Whisk3D Editor is the full tool of the ecosystem: modeling, rendering, animation and retro-style game development. The idea is to create whatever you want, whenever you want and with whatever you have — even on "obsolete" devices.
The goal is that anyone can create 3D content without depending on modern hardware or proprietary software. The editor builds on the Core (render engine) and the UI, so the same interface and the same rendering work across every platform.
What does it include?
- Mesh editor (vertices, edges, faces) with object and edit modes.
- Screw, mirror and subdivision modifiers for non-destructive work. More coming soon.
- Materials, textures and normal maps.
- Rendering with normal, z-buffer, alpha and color passes for compositing.
- Animation and lighting.
- Imports and exports Wavefront OBJ models, plus its own
.w3dformat. - Cross-platform: Windows, Linux, Android, Symbian and web.
Under development: Whisk3D is still being built and things keep being added. You can follow the progress on the Telegram group and see the code on GitHub.
